About TONK

Founded in 2020 and located in New Canaan, Connecticut, TONK Art Gallery is a colorful and vibrant art space designed to showcase the works of Jo Tonkovich and emerging artists who embrace color, texture through various mediums.

Jo Tonkovich

Jo uses both her hands and brushwork to mix paints and develop abstract compositions and is known for having an eye for color.

Jo Tonkovich is an artist and gallery owner of TONK based in New Canaan, Connecticut. Jo specializes in oils, acrylics and spray paints and at TONK she makes pieces in the storefront window creating an interactive gallery space. Current categories of art styles include her Happy Collection of abstract colors, Patches, Drips, Sprays, Tondos, and a select grouping of pieces. Jo uses both her hands and brushwork to mix paints and develop abstract compositions and is known for having an eye for color. Her pieces are happy just like Jo’s personality. She is a mother of three and a lover of airedale pooches.

Jo received a BA in English and Communications from Boston College. She has studied art and sculpture at Silvermine Art School.

Her artwork hangs at Cipriani’s New York hotel as well as in homes and offices in New York, Greenwich, New Canaan, Palm Beach, Boston and Nantucket to name a few. Jo’s artwork is featured in New Canaan and Darien Magazine (cover), New England Home Magazine with leading designers and has been in several house tours. She is curating this year’s Rooms With a View design event in Southport, CT – selecting talented artists to showcase art in support of local charities. She recently moved to a larger gallery space in New Canaan.
